About Beth

Beth-bio_edited.jpg

Hi! I’m a slightly over-caffeinated fashionista, born and bred in a Connecticut shoreline town, and married to the sweetest, funniest military man (and fellow New Englander). We have been on the move for years, traveling and relocating to places far and wide, but always with a wistful look back home to the beaches of Old Saybrook where we grew up.

From the humid waft of a steamy lobster pot to the crisp snap of autumn’s first apples, the warm scratch of flannel to the lavender-blue waves of hydrangeas lining coastal byways.

I love the casually formal look of New England -- steeped in tradition, yet just short of starched -- but with a modern flair.

This blog is for the transplants. It is for the New Englanders, for the preppies, for the people who know there is no “The” involved when you’re going on cape or have the ferry schedule memorized. It is for any who want to be any of that, or just look and live like they do.

Capturing the essence of living on Long Island Sound has kept me sane moving about the world and while hunkering down with stay-at-home orders where we're stationed in Austin, Texas. Maybe it can be a tonic for you too.

A little hamlet to surf the Sound from your sofa, wherever that may be.

What Knollwood Beach Means to Me

The real Knollwood Beach is along Long Island Sound in Old Saybrook, Connecticut.

My parents bought a home there in 1968 and still live in that house today. My dad grew up in Old Saybrook and my mom's family had a "cottage." They met at Terra Mar on Saybrook Point.

Why did I name my company the Knollwood Beach Edit?

Because my fondest memories were made here. I met my best friends here. I met my husband on the pier here. We married at St. John's Catholic Church and celebrated at The Castle.

Being a military spouse I've had the amazing opportunity to live all over and meet people from all walks of life. However, my heart will always belong in Knollwood Beach.
