A summer wedding nod to formal style
Someday we'll be able to see friends and family again, and when we do I'm ready for my friend's wedding in this burnt orange stunner from one of my tried-and-true brands, JCrew.
Serendipity (and a loosening of the stay-at-home orders) lead me to be wandering through TJMaxx and this dress nearly jumped off the rack.
Lace can sometimes feel stuffy (and itchy) but the sweetheart neckline and spaghetti straps unstuff this one a bit.
I'll be wearing it with a generous gift from a dear friend for my *gasps* fiftieth birthday this year. This gorgeous Mark & Graham Palm Leaf Rounded Clutch -- a classic barrel shape that is relaxed by its awesome fabrication in straw. It's like bringing the beach without the cling of the sand.
When wearing bright colors like this, I love to wear a simple nude shoe. Coco Chanel loved nude pumps and perhaps was the first to recognize the power of extending the look of your leg.
These d'orsay pumps disappear on the foot and allow the lookers (because there will be lookers) to focus on the dress and bag.
